Make up is a product of the patriarchy.
The very patriarchy that slanders women for wearing it.
The ideal that shapes the patriarchy is one that strips away the freedom that women have to make their own decisions.
Therefore, me consciously deciding to live my life in liberty is the strongest influence I have in advancing the opposition to the patriarchy.
I can wear make up if I want to.
I wear it because it makes me feel beautiful.
It is not my fault that I think this way, I’m a product of the patriarchy too.
However, I realise that I don’t have to wear it to please men, and I don’t.
I can wear it to please men, if I want to.
I don’t have to stop wearing because it is their product and I am a feminist.
I am at liberty.
I can make my own decisions.
I am not controlled by the patriarchy.
I fight it.
